Mathura Vijay Yellow background on Patta - A painting depicting the journey of Sri Krishna and Balaram to Mathura on invitation of their uncle Kamsa, who was a tyrant king ruling over Vrishni Kingdom with its capital at Mathura. The people of Gokul are not happy as they fear that Kamsa will kill both the brothers and they try to stop them. However the brothers go to Mathura and ultimately Sri Krishna kills Kamsa and frees the people of his tyrany. The painting beautifully depicts the story with intricate figures painted in a Patta, (silk pasted on a board) around 2mm thick. With yellow backdrop the painting makes vibrant piece of ethnic wall decor.
